Im getting a AMD cpu and I need a mobo but I need your options on this mobo.
How is it? some reviews say it's good some say it suck.Does anyone have it?
If it does suck then tell me what mobo I should get...it has to be agp and 939:|:

would rather wait and buy a PCI-e mobo later on.

But if you do want a new mobo right now, it isn't a bad one,ASUS is prety good, and yes some people have problems with it, but some people have problems with everything

If you decide to buy a mobo now get one with the Nforce 3 250 chipset. Better IDE controller with less CPU usage..

Why not just go with a nforce 4? The controllers are similar but your locked into agp again. If he has to have an agp slot, get this mobo:

I have an A8V and now that I "know" my system, I think I can confidently say that the board is fine. I have my processor overclocked by 25%, my memory by 8%, and my videocard overclocks fine. And keep in mind that the board some of those links are talking about is the A8V delux. Anyway, most of the people complaining about the board just don't know what they're doing. It's a common mistake to blame hardware when it feels like you're doing everything correctly. It's taken me months to get to know my computer enough to get it working at full throttle. And I wouldn't need to overclock if I had a faster processor (and the memory overclock is a byproduct of the cpu overclock and most likely doesn't affect peformance at all).

However considering that you've decided to go PCI-e, the question doesn't seem to be whether the A8V is a good board or not. Now you're asking yourself "AGP or PCI-E". In that case, if you don't already have an AGP videocard, or don't mind buying a new one, go pci-e. It's the better choice for futureproofing and it's my only regret about my computer.
