Ok so I stopped playing BF after the demo, and am interested in getting back into it. . .however I have this very appearant problem right here. What happens is during gameplay (and even during games like CIV4) the screen goes crazy as in the pictures. Sometimes if I alt-tabbed out and back in, it'd get fixed, but not always. I had a 300W powersupply, but upgrades to a 450 - but found that though I wasnt getting the crazy artifacts - I WAS getting mad game lock-ups. I seem to remember the game running smooth at some point. . .but dont remember when. I'll have to reinstall and see - but is this a power issue? And if I need to get a new powersuuply (as I have a 300 in there I'm sure I do) what do I need to look for. Folks are selling 400W - but the +12V runs at 16A. . .as if I know what that means.

I have a Chaintech 128mb 6600, with 1gig DDR Ram, a ECS K7VTA3 FSB333/AMD 2600+ (yea I know, old - but it ran WoW damn smooth and I dont think thats the problem).

Make sure you don't have any funky overlays on in your video card drivers.

Somfin to do with ure graphics card, drivers as said or maybe temperarure issues?

Uninstall all drivers and re-install them. Try re-installing BF2.

get the latest driver for your video card. if you have the latest driver, roll back to an old driver.

Hmmm - did all that (even a fresh install of Windows) - got a new 600W power supply (Not a cheapy - 34A on 12V) and it was running fine for two days. Then back to the above problem.

Dunno what to do now. Probably the card.

Seems to only correct itself with a full system reboot.

It's a problem with you video card driver or you card just can't handle the game. Try to OC the card.

OC the card? Even if the card was having problems, it would stutter, not change colors and screw the screen up. Either the card is dying, or it's overheating, ocing it would make things worse.

OC'ing a videocard won't make the card suporting things it didn't before.

so this isn't the problem.

If it was a PSU problem, your system would run unstable, but not something like this.

If it was heat, it could be, but in 95% of the heat cases you get unstability, artifacts (not something like this) in your game.

if you ask me, this is a plain driver problem , try other drivers .
And use driver cleaner, this is a freeware prog (google will find you a download) wich is easy to use and will remove all pieces of the drivers on your PC (videodrivers selecting) .

then reinstall the drivers, newer older versions, just try them.

Like i said you b/4 it is a driver problem. He said he did change drivers and roll back to an old driver. So a card that can't handle the game would do that when it slow downs. OC could fix the problem but i don't think its the problem like i said in my other posts in this thread.

What wouldn't this card support?

OCin could stop the game from locking up and that is what changes the color of the screen like that.

the rest of you post is dead on and like my other post it most likely a driver problem. :)
