    New Video card

Ok, im seriously thinking about buying a new vid card, but I dont know which one to choose. The 6600GT or the X700? Both are about the same price. Playing BF2 at 800x600 with everything turned off and on low..and even that, its slow..kinda sucks. stupid 5600XT

But what I find weird, is that the 6600 GT cost a little bit more (like 10$) but it says it is 128 Mb, while the X700 is 256...???

Memory doesn't determine how good a card is. What you need to compare is the core speeds.

I'm pretty sure the 6600gt is better, go with that one.

Yea, and ive heard that alot of people with the x700's are complaining that its not up to the 6600. So id got with Nvidia on this one.

ya, although i have a 6800, which is supposed to be better than the 6600Gt, but can't even play on medium. I think my main bottleneck is the video ram, but if u have more than 1gig, i hear that its alright. just my opinion, but i have heard nothing but good things about the 6600GT

If you can spare the 50-70 extra bucks, go for the 6800GS, performs as well as X800XL/6800GT at stock speeds, but can overclock WAY higher (425/1000 to 525/1300 with Stock cooling). It only has 12 pipelines, but benchmarks have proved how good it is. GOes for about 200 on newegg.com

Oh, thanks for correcting me, as i forgot he only had AGP. I also was too unfocused to read that he got the new card.

Yep, i just hate the people who do this when i make a mistake: "OMG, DID YOU NOT READ THE LAST POST, HE SAID HE ALREADY BOUGHT A VIDEO CARD. AND ARE YOU STUPID, THE 6800GS IS ONLY FOR PCI-E. WOW YOU DON"T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HARDWARE" Or something along the lines of that.
