You need to setup a home network using a router. Search for network guides on the internet.

Get a router... wireless if you have a laptop and connect up the computers with Lan Cables...

1) buy 2 network cards
2) buy a crappy router.
3) plug every thing in.
4) READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.

nope aint been on the forum for abit now.
anyway thanks for the help. So i need the router and network cards do i absolutely NEED these? if so can anyone post a suitable one?

all you really need is a router. d-link and linksys are good.
1. Plug ethernet wire from modem to WAN port on router.
2. Get as many wires as you need, and then plug them from the router to your comps.
thats it.

You don't need a hardware router just to get two PC on the Internet.

You just need one PC with two network cards and the other PC or PCs just need one.

You then setup the PC with two network cards to share the Internet connection, quite simple and often overlooked feature of XP.

I use D-link here and it's very good, I had to reset it once or twice but otherwise no problems at all and does the job perfectly
