Which 2 x 1GB RAM upgrade is the best...?

I'm looking to upgrade my RAM by getting 2 sticks of 1gb pc3200. I don't have a huge amount to spend, at very most about £150-160.

Below are a few I have found, let me know which you think would be best... and please suggest any better alternatives...


1. GeIL Value

i have corsair value select and they work great and saved me some money. memory is memory, it's a commodity, don't get suckered by the hype and misinformation and fancy packaging. it's all made in china anyway.

Corsair, that's exactly what i have, except yu got 2x1gb sticks. It's good, but don't expect to OC much, but none of those will overclock much.

I use 4x 512 sticks of Kingston Hyper-x matched sets. PC3200 in dual channel mode.

Corsair, that's exactly what i have, except yu got 2x1gb sticks. It's good, but don't expect to OC much, but none of those will overclock much.

Actually you would be suprised. Ive seen this same ram at 260 mhz.

2x1GB Corsair Value Select (VS1GB400C3) running dual channel at 2.5-3-3-7 here.. No issues.

I'd say Corsair is definitely the choice to go with here.

(Running 2x sticks of 1gb Corsair Value Select now)

There is some gail value on Overclockers.uk cheaper then the one you have its.
Price: £124.95 (£146.82 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Geil is probably best, people on www.overclockers.co.uk forums get thiers to 2.5-3-3-6 or something like that on DDR400.

That is where i got my price from, so i guess they put it down. But now it works out £119.95 or £147 delivered inc VAT, so i guess they have just knocked another fiver off it!


...lots of ppl are bidding for a USED set of this on ebay at the mo, currently going for £110 with 3days left.. haha, i bet it goes for more than £150, suckers...

try looking on dabs.com ive been lookin to get the same 2gb set and the value corsair is only £125.99.
