new comp slower than old one

I have been having lots of trouble with my new comp, and i think its my mobo, i have a p4 3.0ghz 800mhz and 512gb kingston valueram pc3200 and a soon to be upgraded power supply.(300 watts atm) my mobo is an asrock p4vm800 and it has the crappiest overclocking features. my sandra memory benchmarks are only 2500mbs:cry:  im almost positive there too low as ive seen some pretty impressive ones with this cpu on the net.
I want to upgrade my motherboard, and i would like to know the fastest for my cpu. thanks in advance.

Why the heck would you get a better MEMORY benchmark with a better CPU?

Ahh because going from an amd athlon xp 2000 with pc133 ram to this, should have alot higher numbers. is there anyone out there with some info that will actually help me out, perhaps someone with a p4 3.0ghz 800hmz fsb, could help me, i still havent got a single direct answer off this forum.
