Hello, help with PC upgrade to play BF2

Hello all, I am new to this Battlefield malarky but I have been drooling over BF2 videos on google video. Basically I need to upgrade my PC to run this well (and other graphically impressive games).
    I have a packard bell PC with a Nvidia MX/MX400 (approx 64.0 Mb), I have 256 RAM and a Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.00GHz.

I am useless with this technical stuff but I know i cant run any of the enclosed maps on AA without major problems ( jumpiness) like a framerate of 12 or so .

I dont have the money for an alienware or anything very expensive ( I am a poor student)

I can supply more info if you want and any help would be greatly appreciated. I am desperate to get this sorted before Christmas wink wink.

    Thanks for your time. Mark.

      Hey Mark,

What is your budget? If we can save parts from your current PC it would help greatly but it would also mean you'd have to build it yourself. You can read up on tutorials and things and see if you are up for it. In all honesty it isn't that hard to do and in the future you can make good money doing it. I charge people about $70 (about $35/hr) or so just for putting everything together and then $40 ($20/hr) to install Windows (which is pretty brainless to begin with, lol).

Not sure on budget in dollar's as you guys probably get cheaper hardware than us Brit's. If I was reccomended a part's I could check the prices in £ and go from there.

They can be had for $350ish US. Check out the 6800 GS if thats too much. It would help if you had an upgrade price range.
