Built my new AMD 64 machine last week with Windows 64 Pro, its great, love it, solid as a rock has not crashed 1 time in BF2. My wife wanted her own comp to to do her college homework on so I bought me a new 1 & gave her my old 1. My new machine is just for games & I made sure there were drivers for all the components before I bought parts & I use the old comp for printing & everthing else.

I know several people who dual boot O/S's, XP 64 for game'n (because its more stable & has better memory management) & XP 32 for everything else.

Even though the poll suggests that 32-bit is better, I think I will install x64 tonight (I have a way with making things break - it's fun).

Now.... must convince the girlfriend to let me go "redo my computer.....again"

I'm waiting for Vista, and even then, not until it's been out for a year or so. I would imagine that most things have drivers and workarounds by now. When I used it, it was still fairly new (120 day trial from MS) and every driver I had was beta, third party, or a workaround.

Vista is supposedly really fast even un-optimized. I cannot wait for the public beta in December.

Vista may be fast, but drivers aren't yet. I've tried the beta and tried BF2 in it and it ran but definitely not nearly as well as it does in XP.

FYI, I installed XP x64 last night and after doing too many windows updates at once, it crashed and wouldn't start. On the second try though it worked just fine. Haven't tried BF2 yet, that's for tonight, after I install all my other essential software. I still have XP 32-bit on my system, just in case

Dual boot is always nice for testing new OS's out. You can always format the other one, lol.
