Screw optical, go Lazer. G5 Laser Mouse or the G7, both from Logitech.

Any of the logitech gaming mice are good (MX510 through G7). Can't really go wrong with any of them.

I've used the MX510 and the MX1000 and highly reccomend both depending on your budget.

My budget is average $50. So the logitechs seem very reasonable right now. How about keyboards? Any good keyboards aswell? I'm still using this dell one, but if the keyboard is to big it won't fit on my desk (smallish desk)

The G series Logitechs loose a thumb button. I need that button. I also suggest the MX518.

If you like more buttons (10 buttons to be precise) and the freedom of wireless, then get the MX1000.

It's on sale all over the place right now.

I just picked up the Saitek Eclipse and it forking rocks. If you go with the G5 mouse you may want to pair it up with the new G17 keyboard, which is only at Best Buy right now.
