    X850XT wattage...

i have thoughts about buying PowerColor Radeon X850XT AGP card.
At their webpage i can read that they recomend a 350 wats Powersupply for this card, because it sucks alot power...
I have a Powersupply at 370 wats in my comp...
I wondered if this was enough?

    My specs are:
    ASUS A8V Deluxe
    AMD Athlon 64 3800+ @ 2.4 ghz
    1.5 gig RAM

    Thank for your help...

The ampere of the 12v rail is more important than the total watt of your PSU. The ampere varies a lot between brands. If you don't have a lot of stuff hooked up to the power supply like several harddrives and cd-roms then I would say it's worth a shot.

it will probably work, just try and you will find out, when your system seems to be unstable, it will probably be the PSU

In a nutshell... No. Your system will probably have random restarts and stuff.

          I reccomend a

          Enermax Noisetaker 485W

          or

          Tagan TG480-U22 480W ATX2.01 2Force SLi Compliant Silent PSU

or if you can get it-

          HIPER TYPE R 580W

I recommend you try it out see what happens, if you get shut downs and restarts then buy a bigger one, dont just buy one now, try the current one.

Actually if it is a decent one it will work with no problems, as long as it isn't some cheap-o one.

Agreed! I use an Enermax 485W Noisetaker to run my X850 XTPE.
                No problems whatsoever!

I'm gonna get a much bigger PSU then I have right now (450w) because eventually I will be running Crossfire. However I haven't decided which one I will be running.

Watts are irrevelant. What brand, how many amps on the +12v rail?
