Suggestion some headsets

I'm opening up the floor for suggestions for some REALLY good headsets.

Here are the requirements:

1) Has to have a mic, preferably on a boom, if not thats alright too.

2) Good sound, and when I mean good I mean really good.

3) NON-USB, I need seperate jacks for the headphones and the mic.

4) Comfort, comfort, comfort. Nice and big with lots of padding, or alteast so they are comfy.

5) Price is not an issue. Be reasonable though, $300 isn't gonna happen.

I use Plantronics Digital DSP 300, 1 earpiece is hanging of bust and the mike twiddles around on its boom with bare wires and the foam ear thingys have warn down on my stubbly head.

Works fine for me

Will that do ya m8 ?

Trust me m8 in the summer those ear cups will make your ears sweat like a stags balls in the rutting season.

Get flat ones, then you can hear when the house goes up boom when you have left the gas on,
or the door bell ring.

I love the icemat ones, extremely comfortable, great sound, and they're not that expensive.I didn't know newegg had 'em, guess I'll have to order one.

Imho Sennheiser is the best brand for headphones. I recommend a pair thats open and goes around your ears. If the pads are made of some fabric other than skin you are less likely to sweat in them. I have a 5 year old pair of HD 565 Ovation myself. Paid about $260 for them.

I have a set of Plantronics similiar to the Audio 90. I've been using them for several years with no problems at all. They're quite comfortable and have surprisingly good sound for the price.

I considered this but I don't have the desktop space for a mic. Plus I should be able to get a good headset for the price I'm looking at.

Just giving you the heads up the pair i mentioned earlier. One word Awesome. I was used to playing BF2 on 2 ****ty little speakers , tried my new headset last night the sound quality is excellent (true 5.1 surround sound). Now i've got a 5.1 surround home entertainment system that i use for T.V and DVD's but the headphones sound alot better as they pump the sound directly into your brain. It was like my own warzone inside my head last night. It took a bit of getting used to at first because i was used to the 2 speaker mono sound and now i had to try and interprete extra info as to where that bastard shooting me was hiding(not good when stoned:cry: ). After a while and a few reefers later processing where people where firing from by sound became a doddle and i soon got my best ever score . However the downside i found was in the summer they would make your ears sweat after a couple of hours. I had no problems with the mic, people could hear me clearly. I would highly recommend them to any gamer.

I got the Sennheisers HD-201 for 20 bucks and they sound ten times better than my friends Steel headphones. Sennheiser makes awesome headphone. If you got an X-Fi, it makes a huge difference in headphone sound quality. They are also much better than any headphones I ever used, but the highest I ever paid for a pair is about $50. SO go sennheiser either way.
