Look at the benchies, it overclocks like CRAZY (425/1000 to 500/1360 with stock cooling). It beats the hell outta the X800XL and the 6800GT, this should be on some CHristmas wish lists. It has a newer core i think, there fore it overclockks better and etc. etc. even though it has 4 less pipelines than the 6800GT. THis is a great card, and yet it's only 210 bucks on newegg, somebody jump on it before the deal goes away or before it's outta stock.

Yeah, i know, i constantly check benchmark sites and newegg.com for good deals.

P.S. ANother great deal, supposedly a weekend deal, a A64 Venice 3200+ is only 152 bucks (didn't check shipping costs) on newegg.com. THat's a pretty good deal, i got mine for 189.99+shipping.

It's a great mobo (i just got mine like 2 weeks ago) overclocks great, and if you have a black light (i don't expect you to but oh well) the pci and mem slots will glow as well as some of the cables like SATA and IDE cables will glow as well under a black light. It's not the cheapest, but it's very high quality, and it's a great price for that quality, i got mine for 128 bucks, only a 13 dollar difference, but in psychology, think of it this way, if you went to a store and only bought things that were 1 dollar off and you did this every day, at the end of a year you save 365 bucks (that is if stores are open at holidays). So a penny saved, is a penny gained.

BTW what socket, i assumed you meant s939, but tell me if it's different.

Lol, a bit late on both counts. The 6800GS has been out for quite a while and the 3200+'s price dropped quite a while ago.

In the beginning, it looked like eVGA would only keep the 6800GS until the end of the Holiday Season, but other companies started to bring out there own, so it might turn out that it'll last for longer. Can't say much right now, though, because Nvidia might just stop making them altogether.

well, i thought it worked like this for nvidia. They make a reference model, and evga, the first in line, copies it and sells them. As you never see cards from actual nvidia, only from evga, it's most trusted resupplier.

Yea, but Nvidia reserves the right to disallow production. They're 6800GT line's going down the drain. If they keep this up, the 6800GT will disappear and the 6800GS will become the new 6600GT.

Nope. I'm considering the scenario that the 6800GS stays forever. If the 6800GS is here to stay, then no one would buy the 6800GTs anymore because they can get practically the same performance but for like $60 less. That would result in either the 6800GT being phased out, or being sold for really high prices like the Radeon 9800XT and such. IF that happened, then the 6800GS, because of its low price, would go on to take the place of the 6600GT as the mid-end Value Card.

The gt is being phased out, so you're right.
