Geforce 6600 GT Overclock

I have herd that the 6600 GT is a great card to overclock... tho my knowledge about that has expired a long time ago...

last overclock I did was a 300 celeron to 450 with abit mobo and also overclocked a geforce2mx... so ya... long time ago

I know that my card has 1000mhz memory and 500mhz core...

to those who have already overclocked your card, what settings did you use ???

mine is an XFX and it seems to have excelent fan and sink...
the reason I stopped the overclocking is because it does reduce the cards life...

What would be a safe setting to clock that card ?

has anyone with the 6600gt tried multiple drivers and benchmarked them to see wich perform the best ??
I simply use the standard nvidia drivers... the latest one i think 83 or something ???

would anyone know of another driver that performs better ??

Omegadrivers also head over to 3dguru.com put that in google and down load rivaturner this can be a great tool if used correctly unlock all pipelines and overclock your memorey and core speeds

i have overclocked my 6600GT quite a bit, but i have brought the mem speeds down to 1100 (kinda scared to ruin it) but however i did gain more FPS in BF2 by overclocking maybe 10-15 more.:)

It will vary for every card. Each batch will react different to overclocking. Best bet is to just jump the speeds up in small incremets (10mhz or so). Once your card becomes unstable then set it to the last increment of 10 that worked and bump it up by 1-2mhz and keep doing that until you reach your max stable speeds.
