Found one on sale today for $40 a/r, so I went with the MX1000. Havn't gotten home yet to try it out but hopefully it will be good.

I love mine, one of the best mice I have ever owned. I don't think you'll be dissapointed.

Why is a mouse such a big deal? I went out and got a 10 dollar IBM mouse and it worked fine why spend 40-60 dollars on something that you wont notice?

Because people obviously do notice, plus it's nice to have the extra buttons.

I picked up a G5 recently. Coming from a MX700, it is quite a improvement, despite 1-2 less buttons and a weird binding systeming. Its really freaking accuate and I am used a custom 1600DPI setting (2000 is just too much when I just got it), setting it down to 800 in normal games and sorta zoomed, 400 for sniping in certain games, 2000 when i'm playing Quake 4 =)

If one can shallow the fact its 69.99 USD (I got mine for 59.99) and its laser, then its worth it. Sides...my MX700 was all but dying =(

How can you not notice? I suppose you've never used a really good mouse.

Mx518 best mouse I have since my 9 last ones that I broke....plus I have huge hands 2, mx518 much more simple then that G5 with all thos little billiards thingy that you have to put in the mouse....

You don't have to put the weights in the G5, you can leave them out if you want. It's just to get the mouse to the weight you are most comfordable with.
