no , up that processor to a 6 gig and add another 2 gigs of ram to that 2 you have there , also youll need a 512mb pci express card, with what you have you can pump all settings to extra low..............

I posted a bragging thread on some other forums that I administer. This one was honestly for info. :)

Basically, the question was about the graphics card. I wasn't sure if I should go with the 7800 or not. It's quite a bit extra, so I didn't think it was worth it yet. Plus, I figured I could SLI 2 6800's if necessary. :)

Also, I was hoping to troll for Dell-haters, but realized that when I made the original post it totally borked the formatting and when I edited I forgot to "accidentally" leave any references to Dell.

Yes, that machine can run BF2 on high settings. I have a P4 2.8GHz with 1GB of RAM and a 256MB vid card. I can run it on high with no problem. The only bottleneck, however, is your connection. If you play on laggy servers or your connection isn't optimized, that's when you see lag. But if you're just doing it to see reflective water and particle effects, then go for it. You should still optimize your settings in your BIOs, defrag your hard drive, and turn off any anti-virus software to make sure you're running on full resources. Good luck.

Yeah your system will run the game fine on High settings. Good thing you got the 2gb RAM. I initially had 1 then added another. Made a difference.
