    AGP GFX card... dilemia.....

    The deal:

I have purchased the Nvidia 6600GT gfx card this week & returned it.
Purchased the ATI X850 pro.... being told it would run great with BF2....

The ATI X850 pro cost me $249, and i see it now sold on ebay like crack for under $100...... $h!t.....

I was told I could run all video on high with this card... I can't do that...
Geometry is set to high and the rest medium with no AA..... increasing anything to high causes stutters.....

My question is this is this card suitable?
Is it going to run next years games???( I know they are out dated b4 they are sold, but.....)
***I am considering upgrading to a 3.0gig chip and adding 1 gig of ram...***

So I post a poll... Leaving this upto the forum....

Keep the ATI X850 Pro or sell it to get a better card.....

With the ATI 1800 out now, is that the best card to buy???

What about overclocking the X850 pro card ???

Diff between X850 pro and the X850 xl???

add more ram. BF2 is a ram hog and high is only possible with 1.5 or 2.0gb of ram.

          x2

Try adding more RAM first because it is indeed a resource pig.I have an x800 PRO OC'd to higher speeds along with a 1GB of RAM and it runs fine for me.

AGP will no longer be made, soon. It's already hard to find top-o-the-line AGP cards. Everything is going PCI-e, so unless you want to replace your motherboard to accomodate the newer card, better find the best card you can. The x850pro is a good card, but lacks memory. You should be able to run all high w/ 2 gigs of ram. The x800xt is better than the x850pro, so if you can find one, get it. Your gonna have to search to get it for close to $250.00, tough find.
