    Advice on upgrading.

Im having to buy a new power supply because my current one is no longer up to scratch. So at the same time im going to upgrade other parts of my system. My current system is:

CPU: AMD athalon XP 2400+ 2.0 Ghz
    Memory: 1 GB DDR RAM
    Video: Radeon 9800 PRO
    Mobo: Leadtek WinFast K7NCR18G

My only thoughts at the moment is to upgrade my processor. Though im not sure what im looking for , or whats not going to work, so i was hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

    Re: Advice on upgrading.

Just get the power supply. The max supported cpu for your motherboard is a 3000+ (333fsb, not the 400 fsb one), but the cost of getting one (if you can still find them) is not worth the small (less than 10%) performance increase).

You would be better off to start saving for a more substantial upgrade (motherboard, cpu, video card), than spending money on discontnued platform (I have seen that even the socket A Sempron's have been discontinued).

And would i benfit from upgrading my processor at all?

well, after reading around, and posting on a few forums, iv been advised to look into the AMD Sempron 3300+ 754 pin. Is it a good choice, will i notice any performance increase if i upgraded with this cpu?, plus along with a compatible motherboard of course.

Motherboard: Jesus A8N-E (Has PCI-E and a 939 socket so its good for anything up to date)

CPU: Anything 64 series above 2.0 GHz really. I suggest the AMD Athalon X2 Manchester Dual Core I have it and I love it so hard.
