    AGP or PCI-E

    Option 1: Buy a new motherboard(PCI-E), buy a new processor(Socket 939) and buy a PCI-E graphics card(7800GTX) or another PCI-E graphics card that owns.

Option 2: Buy an AGP 8x graphics card that already suits my system and save loads of money. AGP 8x - 6800Ultra or any ATi card that rocks.

What'd you think? I could really need some advice, wait-save or buy cheap.

    Intel Pentium4 3.4
    Nvidia GeForce FX 5950 Ultra
    Kingston 2048, 4x512
    Asus P4P800SE

If you got the money to spend then go ahead and upgrade even though I wouldn't with that system specs. I would just replace the video card with something higher that is all.

Like was said above, if you have the money make the jump. The AMD will treat you much better and run your games much faster.

I'd just up the GFX card, the rest is fine and would just be p***ing money down the drain changing to PCI-E.

I think I'll go for option 2. Thank you people. Then I can also use my money on something "sencible" ;b

if you have enough money, go for PCI-E...
Thats the newest, and they dont produce new AGP cards i think...

                  Re: AGP or PCI-E

Well, I'm not going to be gaming for years. I'll end my gaming when I go to a higher education. So I think I'll stick with the AGP.

Good choice, AGP will be obsolete at the end of 2006. That's when i'll be upgrading my PC.

                      Re: AGP or PCI-E

So.. In the end. When I have:

                      Intel Pentium4 3.4
                      Nvidia GeForce 6800 Ultra
                      Kingston 2048
                      Asus P4P800

I am able to run everything on high right? The 6800 is almost like the 7800 but there's still a differents right.

Ohh my ****ing god.. Can't you read? I said I'm not going to be a geek and play games my life through.

Maybe you should do something differently and educate yourself first! So that you can actually understand what people is trying to tell you.

Almost all new video cards are being released as PCI-Express only due to the dual graphics solutions available only on PCI-Express.
