Graphics Card and memory questions

Well to much annoyance I have found out that my Radeon 9800 pro is broken so im gonna be buying a new card. After much searching i have found these 2:

My question is which one is better? I was told that the x800xt is but am suspicous because its cheaper than the x800 pro, so some help would be much appreciated.

Also i currently have 1gb of corsair value in the form of 2 PC3200 512mb sticks and would like to boost my memory. I have a PC3200 512 stick of unbranded ram knocking about and was wondering would it affect my performance if i put it in? and would it/could it damage my other sticks? Also would i be able to put in a Corsair Value PC3200 1Gb stick in with my 2 512 ones without it affecting performance? Thx for any help.

I know you may not want to. But if you want to upgrade your hole system-

DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D £100
AMD Opteron UP 144 £ 100
BFG GeForce 7800 GT OC £234

That comes to £434

May be more, but its your hole system upgraded.

To be honest a X800XL or that X800XT is a good choice if you want to JUST upgrade your graphics card. But look for prices of a 6800GT, its a very good card.

To be honest i just want to upgrade the gfx card and the ram as im happy with my mobo and processor. Any ideas about the ram guys?

You can add the 512mb of unbranded ram and yes it will boost performance.

The Corsair ram will automatically adjust to the speed of the unbranded ram!

The XT model is more powerful than the pro. It has 16 pipelines rather than 12 and has slightly higher clock speeds.

As for memory, Ive mixed ram in my old Athlon XP system and it ran fine. Try it, it wont damage anything.

As long as you're not currently running dual channel, then it should be fine.
