ok i have a pci express computer with a 3.4 speed processor. currently i have 2 gigs of regular ram. what speed improvement would i expect and would you recommend upgradeing to 4gigs of the high speed overclocked ram.if so what brand and what ram would you recommend. also do you recommend the after market power supplies 500 watt that are advertizied with vid. cards. i use the standard power that came with my computer. by the way i have a 7800 nvidia card.everything works ok but i would like more speed when loading game. my tech. knowledge is limited so i appreciate any advice thanks to all that reply----------------majsmt----------------------

I really don't think 4 gigs is going to do anything unless you are doing some HEAVY video, 3d editing all at the same time. Just go with 2 gigs of high performence RAM.....look for those LOW timings. That will set you back a good 300 or so. -

No benefit what-so-ever. As for the PSU , what are the specs on it?
Also you don't buy RAM that is already overclocked. Your MOBo decides what clockspeed the ram works at.Comment

Jimmy is right, there is no use in getting high clocked RAM as it won't matter. Brutal was also right in saying that it won't be used. 2GB is about right for now. The only program to even come close to testing that limit is BF2 right now and it uses just over 1GB or so.
As for the power supply. Consider something around 500-600 Watts from Antec, Silverstone, or Thermaltake. All of them are very reputable companies. The Silverstone 600watt SLI-Ready PSU has gotten some very nice reviews.Comment
