    nvidia drivers problem

ive had this problem for a while now... i have a geforce 6600 AGP 256 mb...

i got it just for bf2, and with my old/new drivers (i know this doesnt make sense now...) it wouldn't work.

my old drivers were actually the newer version, the 78.01. I asked around in some forums why my game wasnt working, to no avail. i also noticed that i couldnt play videos in winamp, or watch videos on the internet.

one forum told me to upgrade to these beta drivers, 81.85. now not only did the videos not work, they blue screened me. ive degraded my drivers back to 71.89, and my computer and bf2 runs fine. videos are also working, but i have no idea why later drivers are actually causing my video card to work less efficiently.... any ideas?

    Re: nvidia drivers problem

i have a very similair problem, but with ATI video drivers, i have upgraded to the latest ATI catalyst dirver and none of my .exes work now, (meaning i cant play BF2 ) and then i installed the latest ATI omega driver hoping that would fix it but still the same problem, so i have had to install the old driver again does anyone now how i can fix this problem aswell ??

      Re: nvidia drivers problem

when I experienced similar problems I uninstalled/cleaned both drivers and game and then reinstalled them. Worked then.

Sounds odd but when I patched to 1.03, nothing worked. In the end, I reformatted my PC. Worked fine then.

        Re: nvidia drivers problem

use drivercleaner first, maybe there are some leftovers from your previous driver on your pc wich can cause big problems.
