Which Video Card

Ok i just built a pc which the specs are 4400+ X2, and 2gb of ram

so i want to know which card should i get under 400? im thinking a x850XT or 6800 Ultra

P.S. Im running on 8-color MOBO gfxs

man if im not mistaked u can get a regular 7800gt for around 400, but the gtx is more.. not sure.

Wait for the new ATI 1800 they should be out any day now. Tomshardware.com ran bench marks and one ATI 1800 stood toe to toe with 2 Nvidia 7800gt SLI.

the new ATI 1800 cards are crap. They get their asses handed to them by the 7800GTX. Check it out for yourself:

If you want a top of the line rig (and it looks like you do based on your CPU and RAM) you must go 7800GTX.

(Just curious, what ram did you get?)

to support that system you want NO LOWER than a

7800GT or 1800XL

realisticly all you have to chose from is the

7800GT
7800GTX
1800XL

i would go for the GT. :)

As of now the 1800XT PE isn't on the market, but when it comes out it will be above the 7800GTX (only if it is slightly, it still beats it). But right now my suggestion is the eVGA 7800GTX that is OC'd.

7800GT , way better then 6800 ultra or 850XT and have the same price.

About the X1800 series, they sucked when they came out, but they perform slightly better now then the 7800 series with there new drivers, they have a more effective memory controling now.
Only problem is, there are almost impossible to get, ATI's problem for ages now, very good cards, but no availability.

The 7800GT really is actualy only like 300 bucks after rebate on newegg.com, don't get a X1800XL, i'm more of an ATi fan, but the GT has same or better performacne for like at least 100 bucks cheaper. You could get a GTX for the price of a X1800XL, but the X1800XT, that's a different story, the X1800XT is just BEASTLY, let's hope the prices arn't too high.
