    ASrock ULi Mobo Overclocking?

Hey guys I have an ASrock Dual SATA ULi motherboard and an AMD 3500+ on the standard BIOS.

I've finally decided to overclock it to a pretty standard (for overclocking this chip) 2.4Ghz. The only reason I am doing so is because Speedfan is showing my CPU running at 30*C Idle and never over 40*C under load with my room at 65*Fahrenheit, so why not? My motherboard seems to resist all the changes I throw at it. There is a simplified multiplier change in the Bios for that 2.4Ghz overclock. When I restart the PC it goes back to the 2.2Ghz setting.

I know this board isn't the best for overclocking but I've heard it can be done.

My question? How! Does anyone have experience dealing with this Motherboard, or have any links that can show me how? I really really don't want to flash the BIOS because my luck continues to get worse when I deal with such things.

    Thanks for the help!

Well, you need to do a couple of things, those ASROCK mobos are quite good overclockers acutally.

-First set your HTT to 4x (5x200 is 1000, anything over 1000 is unstable. And because your going to raise the 200 number u need to reduce the mutliplyer!)

-Now set your FSB to 219 (219x11= 2409=2.4GHZ)

-Set your divider to 333mhz, so that your RAM is not stressed. BUT, what ram do you have? Do you have high quality ram? Got a link to it?

    Thanks.

RAM (at least the brand, price, and packaging look the same):

I don't remember there being an option in the bios to change those things, there seemed to be generic options like the voltage settings able to be set to a max of 1.45 and the clock speed only changing with the multiplier to 2.4ghz. I'll go take another look I guess.

I have a ASrock mobo not the same one you have but my mobo does not like overclocking, I get a damn BSOD every morning but I could live with that, it helps keeping people from using my computer while i'm sleeping:)

The actual proceedure has a lot more to do with the CPU than the mobo.

I do not have any expierience zith Asrock mobo's but from what I have heared they come unstable prety fast, but giving it a try can't hurt as long as you don't OC to much.

If your system becomes so unstable you can't even start up, just do a cmos reset, going back to default then

              Re: ASrock ULi Mobo Overclocking?

Actually this board is supposed to have an auto CMOS clearing feature where after 3 failed boots it clears the CMOS.
