I have the 550 in my machine and all I can say is "hot hot hot" same would go for the 64 bit version. Your best bet is just to wait and go AMD perhaps sooner then you had planned.
Actually no the 64 bit P4 CPU's run considerably cooler than there 32 bit counter parts.

Should I go with the San Diego or the Clawhammer with the AMD 64 4000???

      Ok, Im lost

I will NOT be going with an SLI board so now I need recommendations for a good mobo to go with the 4000. I believe im going to go with the clawhammer.

why not go with the X2 3800?? i believe taht would be alot better, dual core you know, would probably have more use in the future if you know what i mean, and if you can go higher in dual core i would choose that route.
I would like to get a X2 4800 right now, but dont have the money, also i want to go crossfire, and the only mobo out right know is DFI dont get me wrong, i had one, and i loved it, but is only SATA 1 for 150MB/s waiting to see someone with the ATI cross fire chip and SATA2 with 300 MB/s. Good luck bro

The only boards you can use crossfire on right now (I believe) have the xpress 200 chipset , which is extremely crappy. Wait for a better chipset if you really gotta crossfire.
