Cant tell you wether or not you goofed the card up, but if you have an Nvida, the standard softwaredrivers thatt came with it (I guess unless you disabled it or installed it after you got it from dell) would have warned you that the card was getting to hot. and I think the threshold is set to 127c (At least that is what is set to my 6800 (Non-gt)

We have almost the same system (Exception is the video card) and that is what was standard set for my GFX card under the temp settings.

Try updating your drivers to the 81.85... (www.nvidia.com (Just released). See if that changes anything. Not sure if it is possible, but could something in the software been altered with his overclocking?

yeah the program is call Sentinel should have pretty much lower the clock speed of the card once it got too hot, it also does it when there is not enought power.

the other day i overclocked my 6800gt and it ran fine but very hot, so i put it back to normal. everything ran fine for about 2 days.
and now i playing a game and it will look fine for about 10 minutes, then later it looks like i have no antialising on even though i have all settings to high
do u think i messed up my gfx card by overclocking

Do you have AA set in control panel to App preference?

85C isnt extremely hot for a 6800GT....that card could take a beating...Some people have idle temps of 80C on the 6800GT and it runs for weeks and it runs fine for them.

But...if you decide to get a RMA on the card...dont tell them you overclocked it:|: \

You could try taking the card out, blow the PCI slot, and put it back in.

i took it out, but the gfx card came with my dell that i got back in febuwary, adn wouldnt they have some way of finding out that u overclocked

They might they might not. I know it goes to a factory to be inspected, because dell then contacts the manufacturer of the piece of hardware and gets the manufacturer to reimburse dell. I believe on every piece of failed hardware they have someone take a look at it and try to find the point of failure.

Dell isnt gonna care or even look for it. Dont tell them about heat or o.c.'ing or nothing. Tell them your graphics are f'ed up. Let THEM tell you they will replace it. You have a no questions 1-yr warranty right? Dont wait too long they will mess w/ you. Rather than replacing the card for $300 (im sure they pay way less) They will tell you its a mobo problem, they will ask for your puter or send a tech out to replace a $20 MOBO. Of course it still doesnt work, Meanwhile the warranty will expire, and then one day you call and thats that.

Hmm, im thinking alot of people in this thread may be getting you worried for no reason. Does your card have no AA in all games or just BF2?? I am having a simular problem getting the AA to work in BF2 and i know other people have had the same problem. If its in all games you play then consider a return, but check that first....
