    Creative X-FI worth it??

Ok, so I use my current Audigy 2 for gaming & music listening & I'm very happy with it. I love the 5.1 sound & I only use headphones not speakers. My question is should I upgrade to this newest card is it REALLY that much better? Will I notice a HUGE difference playing games? If so what version of the card should I buy?

my opinion if you have audigy2 i keep it, but if you want it and got the money well not much to say there is there.

If you get the higher end X-fi card then it will be worth it. It jumps FPS by taking a huge load off the system compared to the Audigy 2, not only that but the features it is capable of for future games are astounding. Think of it more as an investment in your audio future rather then just for now.

I'm getting the Fatal1ty soon. I thought I would be getting it sooner then I will be, but I'm looking forward to it.

Well, I'd advice you to wait a while.
Currently there's a huge amount of players having problems with enormous frame drops in BF2 with X-Fi. This goes for people with awesome rigs, aswell as those with slower rigs.

Creative still hasn't released any new drivers, so I'd wait until they fix this problem before buying the card.

I have the X-Fi Fatal1ty myself, and even though the sounds are totally awesome - I've taken a huge performance hit.
Check the Creative forums for more details!

I'd keep the Audigy2. It isn't going to make a huge difference unless you have true surround headphones and most are just stereo and replicate the input to multiple speakers.

Good choice! I've been a Raptor user for a year and I'm very satisfied! Just recently bought another one, and am now running them in RAID0.
The Raptors have 5 years warranty too!

Buy the X-Fi at a later stage instead, when Creative/DICE/nVidia has sorted out the problems.
The cards should drop in price after Christmas, I'd wait until then :)

                        YES
as already pointed out, the X-fi cards are amazing.
Everything sounds way better, and BF2 sounds even better when in Ultra sounds
enabled but you take a huge performence hit. I had to lower my video settings to all med 4aa 4af at 1680x1050 and now get about 45-50fps. I used to run everything on high, but its unplayable now with the X-fi
It works great in everything else with almost no drop in other games.
These cards are just sick, just look at the #'s
You can hear everything going on around you and where its coming from.
I see a few of ya wanna get some raptors and I would recommend them highly. I have 2 in my gaming machine, and 1 and my other pc. None have ever failed, and im always one of the 1st into BF2.

The WD Raptor won't make a huge difference I have 2 74GB Raptors in a RAID-0 and I see no difference in gaming, only large file transfers.

true, is not much of a difference maybe .5 to 1 second faster, and that's in raid mode by the way.
