Either is good, I would say BFG is more the gamers company. They usually slightly OC their cards.

BFG is factory overclocked so it can go further, but costs more. It's up to you if you want to spend the extra money on a bit of overclocking. I spent that extra money on an aftermarket hs/f for my evga, and my card idles at about 37C, load about 55C

I have a BFG 7800GT aswell, runs kinda hot but performs well. And its Factory OCed, but I OCed it some more and got myself some nice cooling for it :)

I say get the cheapest one, usually evga is cheaper than bfg and since bfg's heatsink is stock..... i don't see a point in getting one. I got 2 cheapest evga 7800GTXs and they perform just as well as anyone's bfg or even the evga ko's.

The original Nvidia version, Asus is closest to it. Chose Asus!

same crap just diffrent companies make it. i wouldnt buy a direct Nvidia card buy it from a 3rd party company much cheaper in my opninion

YES!!! I just ordered a BFG 7800GTX off newegg for 550$. I sold my 6800GT and a 6600GT for 350 and have the preferrewd account on my newegg account for no payments for 6 months.

EVGA is an EXCELLENT company but with the OC'ing on the BFG card as well as the lifetime warranty at the same price as a regular 7800GTX you can't go wrong.

I know my cpu is gonna be a bottleneck for a little bit but at least the card is gonna get the job done really well now and when I do a cpu/mobo upgrade. (im gonna go to AMD) but thats gonna cost some money seeing as I will need 2 gigs or RAM, SLI capable board and an X2 CPU.

I have an ASUS 7800GTX , standard overclocked and has a very good and quit cooler, is the coolest (in temperature and looks) 7800GTX on the market.

The BFG runs very hot, also the XFX

Wrong. I have an XFX 7800 GT and it is factory overclocked at 450/1050 which is actually faster than the 7800GT OC from BFG. The card idles at 42 and never goes over 60 on load. Not to mention BFG's warranty does NOT cover you if you overclock your card further. BFGTech explicitly state that they will not replace cards that have died as a result of overclocking.


My card came with Far Cry, X2, and Moto GP racer as well. BFG's comes with nothing. All for the same price.

XFX is also a premier nvidea manufacturer meaning they get first pick at the 7800 gpus made. For more info refer to this link.
