i ask this question because ive decided that i dont want to get a 7800gt its a hell of a lot of money just for a card that your gonna need to upgrade in two years

thinking of getting a 6800gt or a 7800 (needs to be released soon)

also i would like to ask how hard is it to overclock a 6800gt to ultra speeds can someone give me a guide on how to do this

Um...not really. He asked about the 7800 VANILLA, which is basically like the 6800 in the 6 series.

That's with soft-shadows which most people turn off, even those who have sli rigs. Plus BF2 graphics are never gonna be as demanding as those of a single-player game.

If you want to OC your 6800GT, just download coolbits and let nvidia detect your optimal clock speeds, then you can adjust em as you want.

The easiest way is to get a set of tweaked drivers and it will have a tab for clock speeds in your card's property settings. You can tell it to find the optimal speeds, or set them manually then test them.

so that explains why my fps is soo sh!tty in F.E.A.R. demo, is it optimized or do they need to fix it still.

Thoerically, a 7800 looks possible, though some people are waiting to see the possible 7600's/7200's, as rumored.
