    GFX Card & Motherboard compatibility

    Hello All,

I have just about finished all my PC upgrades, except the graphics card. I am about to get an XFX Geforce 6800 GT PCI-E. I have an EPOX Nvidia Nforce 4 motherboard. Ive been told that this motherboard may cause some problems with the graphics card I want, is that true? Any suggestions?

    Thanks in Advance.

Thanks guys for the replies. I know that the nforce 4 isnt the top motherboard available, but it works well with BF2. Currently, with my XFX 6200 256mb (temporary gfx card), it works ultra smooth, as if someone oiled the screen, graphics settings on 2x aa, 1024X768 85Hz, med-high the rest. I want to push the graphics to hopefully, ultra high with the 6800GT. What more do you say?

I doubt it. What is smooth to some is not to others. And he probably has low settings. If he has 2GB of RAM on low settings I can see it. Otherwise I doubt it.

Believe me, I do get this good performance from the 6200, most people underestimate that card (as did I in the beginning). I was very surprised at its performance while playing, that doesnt mean Im saying its the best, all Im saying is that it it a DAMN GOOD card for comfortable playing. I hope to the the 6800GT soon, in two weeks I guess.

My real problem is with my ping, and thats not because of my system, its because of my crappy connection. I live in the middle east, and while trying to connect to servers in Europe or in the USA, I usually get a ping of 230, which is ultra bad. As a sidenote, does anyone here know of a server close to me, like in Turkey or atleast southern Europe.

                  Thanks Alot!:)
