More memory or a new monitor

    Hello,

I was thinking of getting 2 gb of corsair memory to replace my current 1 GB Samsung memory but now i changed my mind because i own a 7800GTX and in combination of my current monitor wich runs on 1024x768@85 hz (hp mx70) wich is a bad combination with my graphics card i heard and read so i think of getting the Samsung 930BF TFT 4ms monitor.

Great deals on used computers, cheap laptops, LCD monitors, business phone systems, & VOIP Phones.

What do you think, good choice to go for the tft instead of memory?

I get different advises. One says monitor since my current one isn't great in combination with my graphics card and you guys say memory. :)

I would have chosen a new monitor too, no sense in having a great gfx cards if you limit its potential with a lousy monitor. That's like having Superman never leaving the phone booth...

Personally I would have chosen a monitor that can do more than 1280x1024, but that is very subjective and I like a huge desktop area, and to run in high resolutions if the performance permits it.

It's not that it isn't a good combination, it's that your card can do a lot more than the monitor was letting you. I'm in a similar situation, but since I'm perfectly happy running at 1024*768 I chose new hardware over a monitor.

Was that a CRT monitor? Cause if so, i woulda bought memory. CRT's plain out outperform LCDs in all graphics applications no questions asked. But they put strain on your eyes and they are just too large for most desks nowadays. BUt CRts provide way better graphics. I woulda gone for high performance mem like XMS series from Corsair, or OCZ gold/platnium, Crucial Ballistix etc. THen you could overclock your CPU much better.

I have the 930B, you wont be disapointed, they are great monitors, and the BF even better...
