    Please help

Hello, if anyone has any ideas please help.

I can't play any of the BF series games. I just bought BFVietnam and installed all updates; crashes after a few minutes of playing. Installed the BF2 demo - same here-crashes within 5 minutes of playing.

It's always the same; the monitor just goes blank (no signal) and the computer doesn't respond at all. I have to turn off mains power and wait for a while before it will start up again. So it seems to be an overheating issue.

BUT I have not overclocked anything; I can play Doom3, HL2, COD, COD2 demo, you name it I've played it, at 1280x graphics no problem. Never any overheating. But any BF-series game it seems will tilt my machine totally. I've tried reducing the graphics levels - and while it still runs, it runs smoothly and nicely until it dies.

My machine is a P4-3GHz on an Asus board, a 6800LE NVidia card, 1G memory. I just tried underclocking the videocard severely, dropped off all the fast writes etc. and still it just crashes. Latest NVidia drivers of course.

Any ideas why BF-games don't like my system???

Check ur ram, and if ur pc's psu is suitble for ur hardware (ask in some store)... The more powerfull hardware u have, the more power needs is requested from the psu.

          Re: Please help

Actually I just checked that I have 'applications control refresh rates' selected in Forceware drivers.

I've used 1280x960@85 or 72 Hz in BF2D...I'll try some lower setting next to see if that helps.
