Tomorrow I'm off to get myself a piece of stylish gaming lcd monitor.

I'll buy this new Sony model

What do you guys think about it?

We sell that one at Best Buy (where I work) and it is VERY nice. I wish I could afford it. If someone asks me for a top of the line monitor I point them over to that one. It has an Xbrite coating on it that makes the image super sharp and super clear. The only downside is it does tend to have a glare on it (simular to notebook screens).

$500 for a 19" LCD monitor? That is too expensive. You can get very nice 19" flat panels with the same resolution for less than $400. The Dell 1905FP for example, their computers suck but the monitors are nice. Look for promotional offers/coupons. I have two of them at under $400 each.

You can obisouly see that this noob doesn't know anything about monitors.

The differents between 4 and 12 isn't that big, it's only if you get above 16-25

Which one of them do you have? The one with total black or black and silver?

Because I ordered the black/silver and I'll have it on Friday.

If you think 12ms and 4ms are comparable thats fine, just stick with 12ms and you will never know.

I have a 19" Acer 12ms monitor and have never noticed any ghosting. That is really expensive for a monitor, but IMO the monitor is one of the most visible parts of your system and you should buy one that you like the looks of.

The Samsung 8ms monitors are probably the best value for the money and look nice too. In my opinion.
