Yea the 1800x are the newest of the vid cards and Nvidia is constantly working on new cards. So either the 1800x series or the 7800 series, they are the top of the lines for both companies.
Get the 7800GTX, as the x1800xt (ATI's new top-of-the-line) will probably be at least $100 more than the 7800GTX. Then when your uber system can only run medium settings on a new game next year (oh no! ), just strap in another 7800GTX and it will be top of the line again .
