Advice on LGA 775 cooler

Well after a week of looking on the internet for LGA 775 cooler that is quiet(<25dB) and cheap(less than 30 bucks), i found zero (0) cooling devices. I saw that Coolermaster has one that matches but not sure how cool it keeps the CPU

Does anyone has experience with LGA 775 cooling?

The stock fan from Intel is like a turbo prop plane. Reminds me of flying from Little Rock to Dallas on AA flight on ATR 42 aircraft. I think Intel is getting sucky on their heatsink and fans.

Forgot to mention I have P4 630 and the idle is at 50C (Yep celcius). Looks like I will be saving some heating money on gas bill this winter. SWEEEEEEEEEEEET.

My roomie is using the zalman 7700. While over $30, I never hear his PC, and it runs very cool.

X90/120 or The zalman 7700.

The Gigabyte 3D cooler pro is good also

I have the thermalright xp-90. It works great and really lowered my temps, not to mention you can choose what fan you want to put on it. find a low db / high cfm one. :)

In my old computer I had a Thermaltake Silent Tower. It brought my temps down that could almost rival watercooling. I was able to OC my P4 540 (3.2GHz) to 3.8GHz, being very stable even after hours of gaming. The only problem with this thing is it really is a tower!!! I had a mid-tower case and I couldn't close my computer with the side fan on because of this beast! :laugh: Here I'll show you some pics... it's very messy now because I'm not using it at all, and I really should strip it down to parts.
Oh and you can add an intake fan on the other side of it for more airflow (probably more noise though :hmm: )

That heatsink looks exactly like the one i got w/my processor. I put it in my daughters computer. It is super quiet. Doesnt work great though. Did Prime95 on it and got p4 northwood 2.6ht up to 68c. Not good. But she will never max it out. However you probably will. The Zalman is a great cooler, so is Thermaltake. Spend the extra $10 on it, it's worth it.

Zalman heatsinks rocks, very quiet, but I experienced better temps, on both 939 and 775 LGA sockets, with the Thermalright XP-90, using it with a good CFM fan like Panaflo's Medium or High models.

If your goal is to have a quiet heatsink, you could as well go with the XP-120, which uses a 120mm fan....as you probably guessed. 120mm fans can push/pull more air than 92mm ones, while beeing quieter. Otherwise, the thermal difference between the XP-90 and the XP-120 is pretty much nothing.
