i own an alienware area 51 and i love it..i priced 2 pc's from dell and alienware..the alienware pc was only 102 dollars more than the dell..how people consider them overpriced is beyond me..true, im sure alot of peopel could build a pc for cheaper, but people like me, who arent skilled in doing so, choose to buy a pc..i like 'em alot..i have no complaints..

computers are very easy to build. Its not hard at all to learn. My friend showed me how to do it in 5 min then I built his moms computer, followed by my own.

Alienwares stuff is cool but its terribly overpriced

What the hell, you compared a "Dell" (overpriced piece of ****e) to an alienware (another overpriced case) and you think that makes spending the money ok?

Id rather compare your alienware, to custom building the same specs.. honestly id say youd save a good £300-500 easy

I seen the PC i wanted, i custom built it (trust me i thought i wuddnt be able to do it, its **** easy, to much hype around it) anyway it was £1200 in most of the shops/sites and catalogues from around 6 different retails that was the average, i bought most of the parts from overclockers and scan.co.uk(excellent value) and it came to £700

Anyone else here have an Alienware? It seems that most people have AMD.

I'll tell you what. Give me the money that your going to pay for Alienware, ill build you the same exact thing! Then ill be a 1,000 richer.


PS. dont do it, they are over priced, save the money and build your own, not that hard really.

Alienware comes most of the time with AMD power in it.

And, do not buy crap like Alienware, they are way to expensive, put your PC togheter yourself, with the parts you want, it will be a lot cheaper then Alienware and have the same power or even faster

I never buy name brand.. you pay %30 more and get stuck with
funky parts, cases, and horrible tech support..

Alienware is over rated.. I put my Fatality AN8Sli PCI-E up against a
comparable alienware system any day, and paid half as much..

Build your own, save money.

Just don't. Alienware is basically another word for rippoff. Plus they put Intel cpus in what is supposed to be a gaming computer. Intel and games don't go in one sentence together.

Well, like i said, it's not hard at all to do this kinda thing. It's simple to build a computer, you simply screw in th mobo, put the cpu in, put the HSF on, get the memory, hd, and optical drive in. Get vid card and possibly sound card in and connect all those powerconnectors and all those conectors in the right place. THen close up the box, and plug in, and turn on, install windows, install drivers after done, and reboot the machine to get the drivers all ready. It shouldn't be hard at all, my 12 year old cousin made his own computer without any help, i watched him do it, he put the comp together in like 30 minutes (thanks to some mobo screws and the small front panel connector wires). And had windows down in 20 minutes, installed the drivers, and the whole thing was done in about an hour. He's overclocked his CPU (with some problems) And overclocked his vid card a bit, i know, he's like a prodigy with comps at his age. But his dads an engneer (computer engineer) so his father has showed him how to do it and stuff. Just search on the internet for comp building guide.
