Hi, I'm building a new gaming pc and was wondering what some of your specs/Hardware on your pc's were for playing BF2?

The PC I'm thinking of building goes like this:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 FX-57

Motherboard: Abit Fatal1ty AN8 SLI NVIDIA Socket 939 ATX OR Asus
A8N SLI Deluxe nVidia Socket 939

Memory: Crucial Dual Channel 2048MB PC3200 DDR

PSU: Xion 600 watt PowerReal ATX

SC: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS

VC: XFX GeForce 7800 GTX / 256MB DDR3

Please give some feedback on this setup and maybe some suggestions.

No matter what you do, go for AMD. It IS the best CPU for gaming.

It doesn't seem like you're limited by a tight budget, so I'll throw out some suggestions..

You should go for Corsair XMSPRO memory, it's the RAM with the lowest timings. Plus, Corsair is very reliable and stable.
Also, if you can afford it, go for the X-Fi Fatal1ty (or the better X-Fi version, can't remember the name atm), as this enables you to turn the sound effects in BF2 to Ultra High instead of High - and according to reviews there's quite a difference!

Oh, and if you're into overclocking, you'd be better off with a DFI board as they're insane @ overclocking options. It's a bit more expensive, but it's worth it if you want to squeeze the last drop of juice out of your setup :)

Hey there.
AMD certainly has better CPUs for gaming. Try the FX-55 which has gone down in price, or the X2 4800+. Premium CPU for gaming is the FX-57.
for Sound id go with Soundblaster 2ZS or X-Fi music, platinum, Fatal1ty.
for Graphics, i usually go with Nvidia. I have the 7800gtx.
Motherboards, Asus has a great AMD line up. Abit also. DFI and Gigabyte are very respectable as well.
Memory- Many articles say BF2 runs best with 2GB of ram. So i recommend a dual channel kit from OCZ, Corsair, Crucial. Try to get ram with low latency.
(a note for the CPU, youre gonna want to keep it cool, especially if you try to overclock it, I have had a very good experience with the Coolermaster Hyper6 Heatsink Fan , and i recently installed the Zalman 9500led HSF. Use arctic silver thermal compound. my overclocked CPU doesnt break 50 degrees Celsius.)

Very good choices, but like the other guy said, go for X-FI if youre budget can handle it. Big Sound Quality improvement. You chose the Mobo that i have, I am very satisfied with it.

I have the OEM version of a 500gb Hitachi Sata II HD, (which the ABit Mobo Supports)

If you're popping that much, get an X-Fi sound card. Mine is on order from the place where I work (w00t for fatty discounts).

Hitachi, Maxtor are very good HDs. go for Sata II drives, way faster. you Abit or Asus mobo will support those too. Here is the link to newegg for the X-FI http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102189

hey King what kind of Speakers/Headset do you use?

Currently I have the Logitch Z5300's for surround sound.

My headset is the Logitech Stereo Gaming Headset. Many people don't like them, I've never had a problem with mine.
