    ddr vs gddr3

    how much better is gddr3 than ordinary ddr on a graphics card


    im asking this because i can find a 6800 ultra ddr for less than a 6800gt


    any help?

    DONT, DDR sucks on a graphics card

    Trust me get the 6800GT and it can EASILY reach 6800ULTRA on stock cooling.

      Noni that is a nice motherboard you got there. I have a ABIT AN8 Fatal1ty SLI, but if given the chioce again Id buy the ASUS AN8 Delux SLI.

          i think its a great board, surpasses the performance of its DFI counterpart or so i read once

            GDDR3 is short for "Graphics Double Data Rate 3rd Generation". Aka, its faster more stable, and much better on cards. Eventually DDR3 will migrate to motherboards just as DDR and DDR2 have.
