Anyone have any advice on some? I mostly looking for a nice headset but I figured the soundcard may help my cpu out a bit. I'd like to spend maybe 100-130ish. I almost always play with headphones on so 7.1 and such isn't important etc.
Hi there, i recently bought the Creative X-Fi, and i am completely satisfied with it. New Egg has some good prices for the different variations of it. For headset i went with the Sennheiser PC165, also purchased from New Egg. This headset is great, it can connect thru analog or USB. The sound quality is excellent and it goes for 105$. Know anything about the Sennheiser PC160? Since the soundcard is gonna cost me about 70-80 bucks I cant get myself to spend another 100 on a headset. (or my wife wont let me ). Thanks m8s
Hey- My cousin actually has that headset. We play BF2 together using Skype and he comes in Loud and Clear. Plus how much of a difference in using the PC165 and the PC160 could there be. Unless youre an audiophile.:)
Wow what a difference. I never knew I was missing so much sound lol. I have another Q though. In the settings I cannot pick the "creative labs" setting, only hardware with EAX on. This is normal?
And also my mic doesnt work anymore for in the test menu but works in-game fine and in windows fine. Just wont let me set levels etc.
I know what you mean man! I ALWAYS had onboard sound with cheap (no more than $15) headsets until recently when I bought an Audigy 2ZS, and 5.1 surround sound headphones. I couldn't believe there were actually sounds that I had never known were there. The Creative Labs option with Ultra-High sound quality in BF2 is only for the Creative X-Fi sound card. It's newer and better than the Audigy 2 series.
