Plz Help Me!!!

I recently formatted my hard drive to get a clean slate, but ever since then when playing games for about a minute my computer beeps and resets. I have tried changing my drivers as thats where windows error reporting says the problem is, but my computer seems to work fine for a day or 2 but then the problem returns.

I have

AMD athlon xp 3000+ (400fsb)
Abit Kv7-v motherboard
Radeon 9800 128mb
Creative Audigy 2 ZS

I have tried ATi Catalyst 5.9, 5.8 and 5.6 all with control panel

Please help me as this affects bf2, all source games, dawn of war, Far cry and doom3

You could try to re-format is and start again clean... If you do, i would remomend coppying all you important files to a CD or another HD, that way you can retrive them easily...

Does te beeping and restarting only happen in games or does it also happen if you just leave your pc on desktop?

Make sure and check that you updated your OS too and that it is up to date might not have found the most current driver. Also ceck to make sure that all wires are connected tightly not loose. I would think that It is jsut a driver issue. The beeping is coming from you system bios telling you that something is wrong. You might not have formatted the HD right the first time. Try again!

Make sure you do a "full format" not a "quick format"... it could have left some corrupt data or something....

I have reformated twice because of this doing a full format each time, windows is fully updated and all wires are in properly. And the desktop works fine only games cause resets.

Well that is a wierd error.... Try calling microsoft as it sounds too me like it could be a windows issue.. but i dont know why, as surely that would cause it to crash when its on destop or running other apps... so im not too sure.... You could try and re-intall windows.. but i wouldnt do that untill some of the guys who really kno wtheir stuff com eon.. give this thread 12 hours.. if there are no good answers by then, id say whipe the HD, re-install windows, re-install drivers then play 1 game at a time.. only install one app, one that is crasing at the moment and see if that has fixed it... Sry i cant help futher...

How much RAM you got? Where you ever on any of these games B4 with the current RAM you have. This sound weird, cause what is happeneing is a crash. Some thing is getting to much power or not enough. That is my opinion. Also have you tried to just reinstall your games?

Yea, check your BIOS settings, if you have recently OC'ed anything, reset them to factory settings, If you have given extra voltage to RAM, CPU or GPU then take it back aknotch, or if you havnt touched them, try and kick it up a step...

As jiruggiero said, how much RAM do you have, and how much Virtual RAM? If these are running out of space it could be causing the restart.

oHH SHOOT I FORGOT THE easiest cure to that clear your CMOS. There is a jumper on the motherboard that says CMOS very small. Turn your computer off, unplug it and move the jumper to the other pins and take out your battery leave it out for about 1 minute and then put the jumper and battery back in. that should help try it now and come back to see what happened or email me at tedjir@aol.com to let me know how it went.

How much Virtual RAM do you have? (If the clearing the CMOS did not work)

You can find this out by going to control panel, system, advanced, then under system and performance click settings, go to the tab advanced then click on the setting button for "Virtual Memory".

1536mb virtual ram, just tried cmos clear so i'll give it a go.
