VGA Cooling: Zalman VF700- ALCU or CU

Which one is better as a VGA cooler? The ALCU version is aluminum and copper, the CU version is all copper. I know a ton of you are immediatly going to say CU version, but the thing is, aluminum dissapates heat quicker, copper conducts heat better (aluminum get's rid of heat better, copper get's the heat off of the GPU better). And it says, if you have good airflow in your case, go for the copper one, the probelm is, there isn't much airfow underneath my GPU, so that's a problem. Which should i go for, oh and the CU version is 5 bucks more.

Might aswell go for the ALCU version and spend the other $5 on a fan to try and get rid of the heat thats coming out of the cooler.

The problem with the zalman is that they choke on their own air. You didnt want an artic silencer?

I dunno, arctic silencer only covers the ram memory on one side. And i've heard bad reports of it on newegg.com, and from reviews on hardware review sites, they always rated the Zalman better. Plus, for some reason newegg.com doesn't have the silencer any more, and i don' have any more fan mounts to put an extra fan on, and i'm not feelin like moddin my case.

Yah, I have the Artic Cooler not impressed by it. You probably read my review on NewEgg.com. Didn't do much at all really, a waste of money if you were to ask me. Didn't really lower my temps much and it still overheats when I play BF2 for an extrended period of time.

          Did you apply it properly?

how much thermal paste did you use?

I wouldnt trust newegg reviews. Trust reviews from other sites. Use google.

Yes I applied it properly. I used Artic Silver 5 with a 1/2 grain wild rice sized bead (ala AS5's website instructions). I think I'm going to get ArtiClean solution and try it again. I'm having troubles with the locks for the LGA socket too, damn Intel and their complicated crap designs. Why can't the just keep the good old clipin HSF?!
