Ok, it's time for me to stir up some fun in the forum. Ok, I'm making a contest for best computer for gaming on BF2 (just for BF2, not including any other games) in four catagories, low-end: up to 700 dollars spent, medium end: up to 1500 dollars spent, high end: up to 2700 dollars spent, and ultimate computer: unlimited money limit. You don't have to do all the catagories, you can though, here are the requirements:
Case: Judged on airflow and if it's good at all
Motherboard: Based on Bios features, and expansion slots
CPU: Based on how good it is at BF2
Sound Card: Can be onboard sound, Based on sound quality in BF2
Video Card: Based on graphics in BF2 (probably most important)
Hard Drive: Search times, and RPM
Optical Drives: Needs at least 1, faster optical drives will get slightly higher ratings
CPU HSF: Can be stock if you want it to be, but judged by cooling performance.
GPU HSF: Ditto of the above
Input devices: You need keyboard and mouse, you will get quite a bit of points off for no joystick.
Monitor: LCD only, judged by contrast ratio and response time.
Ok, that sums it up, if you don't have one of those, you are automatically disqualified. You may not say that you will recycle items, this is a competition, there is no computer that you can take parts from. THe currency is USD. Let the games begin!!
