    3DMark05 and GeForce 6800

I recently ran this test.. man.. was I dissapointed. I thought I would do much better.

    I got a 4645, and I'm running a P4 3.0 GHz, nVidia GeForce 6800 and 1 GIG DDR2 SD RAM at 400 something Mhz.

I have all my settings on medium in BF2, with 4x AA and My average FPS is 60, and that is when there is nothing going on, mind you. Anyone have any tips for me? I've heard of people with lesser systems,, and the same settings, with better FPS. I'm confused.

Also, can any other 6800 users tell me what settings they are running, and their average FPS? Thanks.

    Thanks.

meh. Don't judge your PC based on just what 3DM05 says. When I upgraded my RAM(from 768mb PC2100 to 1GB dual channel PC3200(OCZ)) I lost 1200 points off my score for some reason(5600 before, 4400 after). But I still run BF2 on all high except for textures which is on medium with 70+ constant FPS. Haven't tried increasing the res or AA yet.

You should try running through this guide. http://gear.ign.com/articles/626/626714p1.html

I got 583x on my 3dmark05 score. it went up 1,500 points with the 3500+ instead of my old 2.0Ghz P4. I think you're a little low because of your RAM and CPU, and maybe even the vga a little.

It isn't proportional to BF2, but that 1500 pt. gain yeilded about 30-40 extra FPS on ultrahigh in bf2.

          He's running a gig of DDR2, I doubt that's slowing him down.
