Power Supplies, watts?

-ASUS PCIE GF6 EN6800GT 256M 2DVI BOX 6800GT
-ATX NIKAO OGRE DELUXE CHROME

this is what i'am planning to get in my new pc theres only 1 gig (667mhz)
but am planning to put in another 1gig in a few months from now. But as for my power supplie... am thinking about "500W POWER ATX ANTEC SP500 2.0"
should i go for like 450 watts, 480... and keep in mind i will still be updating 1gig later. Need some advice:)

450W would probbaly be enough, but as your updating soon then you might want to go for the 500W one.

You can't have those specs. AMD based mobos don't support DDR2 yet, so you need to stick with PC3200.

overall pretty sweet system, but if u ever decide to go to the SLI configuration the minimum wattage is 550. so i would get at least a 600W PSU. aspire has one for around $93, but there are many more to choose from.

So you put a computer in your sig that you don't actually have.... Also the wattage is more or less irrevelant, more important is the amperage of the +12v rail.

The one on my sig is my bro's computer but hes in college and he's always studying so its always me on it. But now am getthing one for myself.

If you plan to upgrade, get a nice PSU. Look for stability and reliability as well.

Got a slight problem - there is no such thing as DDR2 support for AMD 64's (because all of the memory controllers are on the CPU itself) until next year at the earilist with the M2 socket.

Second off, thats a good PSU, but consider your choices too: if you're going non-SLI, a OCZ Modstream 450 or 520 will do the trick. If SLI or crossfire is in your scopes, you gotta make sure you find a damn powerful powersupply that supports it (nvidia requires 34A on the 12+ line; probably same with crossfire) and also one that supports 2x vidcard plug-ins...

Get the higest rated PSU you can find and don't buy a cheap one as they're dodgy.
