Well, after an exhaustive search and LLLOOOONNNNNGGGG download due to Asus's crapy speeds. No, the A8V-E SE does NOT support 128mb chips.

I downloaded the pdf of the manaul, also when i searched for ram with 128x4 config. the compatible chipset list had "Except Asus Motherboards" next to each one.

I can't link direct, just selcet Motherboard, Socket 939, A8V-E SE and then click manuals. The Asus ftp server sucks bad....transfers around 10kb/s.

for this system

amd athlon 3800 skt 939
2gb ram 2x1gb
6800gt pci-e
160gb western digital SATA

kinda looking towards abit ax8 motherboard

Socket 939 that supports 128x4 w/PCI-e. I'll see what I can do, but I'm leaving work in about 30min.

If you have the model of the memory module it might be alot easier. CMXxxxxxx or CM75DDxxxxxx?
