Just got an Audigy 2 ZS...

and I'm having a few problems that you guys can hopefully help me fix. Ok, well start off with installing the drivers. Whenever I put in the CD it came with, and try to install the drivers, it says there is no Audigy 2 ZS detected. Whenever the Windows Auto install hardware comes up, it reads it from the disc and works perfectly. But, whenever I install the programs it comes with, for some reason the EAX Console and Speaker Config programs don't install. Do you guys think I should try new drivers or what?

And also, I remember somebody saying you have to update it somehow to play on High/Hardware/EAX enabled on BF2. I'm new to sound cards, so all the help I could get would be appreciated.

I just downloaded the newest Audigy 2 ZS drivers on the Creative website...and whenever I try to install them it says "Cannot find supported hardware."

I have it in correctly in a PCI slot, I have the cable that connects to a CD drive connected properly, but I did take out the Joystick connector thing.

Nevermind...are you freakin kidding me. It all came down to me having to actually screw it in...I didn't think that would make a difference but it did. Lol I'm smart.

Don't beat yourself up about it,for I've done dumber things. Like, adding a new graphics card and wondering why my cd burner stopped working. Then, 3 months later looking inside the case to find I accidentally unplugged the cd drives power cable. D'oh!

Yah, lol it was probably a fraction of an inch out of the slot. The screw just secures it better so it doesn't move.

And yah I'm in the same boat, I've done dumber things. I sent back a mobo once because I couldn't get the CPU to go into the socket.......which made sense after I realized that I hadn't opened the socket gate.

Everyone who's built their own PC has done lots of dumb things, don't worry about it . On my old rig there was an "easy-snap" clip on the PCI and GPU slot covers instead of screws, and I ended up breaking it because I was trying to do it wrong  . Live and learn .

Ok now what about performance increase, everybody said it would take stress off the CPU and give you better FPS. I tried Hardware and Software on High with EAX and get about the same FPS as before. I actually didn't go over 80 FPS on Hardware in the one game I played..

You probably didn't see a performance increase because your processor is up to the task of running the game and the sound without over taxing it. When's the new processor come in? I'm curious to see if you get a performance jump. I'm betting no, but I want to know for sure.

I almost did the same thing. I was looking at everything the wrong way, and thought my AGP/PCI slots didn't line up with the holes correctly. Took out the easy snap clips and was thinking about cutting out some of the metal on the back so it would fit... Felt pretty relieved when I figured out the slots were misalligned for a reason, and the top slot was for if you had a PCI-E mobo :/
