    Nvidia Picture quality

My neightborg has a 6800GT by BFG and i have the x850xt and his card is no joke very nice i like it alot. But the other day i got to play the game on his computer, and wow, even thought the code was written on nvidia hardware, the image quality on the ATI is way fracking better it is more life like, and more realistic? any one else notice this, for example the grass on the ATI looks like grass, and on the nvidia looks like little fuzzy patches???
P.S. Both cards on same settings only his is only at 4X AA while mine is at 6AA

I noticed that when I jumped to the 7800 GTX from a 6800 Ultra that the grass did look alot thicker and more realistic...

Could just be a simple setting in the driver options. For image quality you can set it to high performance, performance, quality, and high quality. Personally I keep mine on high performance.

No, I leave it at the default, which is quality, and there's a diff from the 68 to 78.

I would have to see a 7800 see if there is diference, but from ATI to NVD there is big one too.

Not fair to compare a 7800GTX to an X850XT PE. The R520's are the next line meant to compete with the 78xx series.

Now that I said that, let me say this:

The only thing Nvidia has that ATI doesn't is transparent AA. That is when you look through glass, nothing on the other side has AA when you play with ATI, it is hardly noticable, especially in a game like BF2 where the action is pretty fast.

Other then that, its a matter of preference really. I have ATI in both my gaming machines, but I wouldn't mind Nvidia either.

I'll get a screenshot later and I'll take another screen of where exactly I'm at on the map, and then somebody with a X850 can go to the same spot and check it out. I didn't say the GTX would look better than an ATI, I just said it looked better than my 6800 Ultra.

There's no way you can tell unless both you and him have the same monitor at the same settings.

Unless you compare screenshots on 1 computer of course.
