Should I get more RAM?

I know most people here say that bf2 needs lots of RAM, which is true. Anyway, I get a bit of lag in the FEAR demo and age of empires 3 demo with lots of units on screen. Still perfectly playable mostly on high settings, but it might dip down with alot of action. Bf2 strangely enough runs fine, I dont get dips with it.

Do you think another 512mb of RAM would stop the stuttering? I dont want to spend much on this, I dont live in america either so I cant buy from newegg. Also, I only got this computer a couple of months ago so I dont want to do any major upgrades, just another 512mb.

So my question is, will another 512mb make games like fear and aoe3 run smoothly on mostly high settings?

1Gb has fast become standard, personally 2Gb is what i would go for

Thats what everyone with really good computers like you say, but I dont really have money for that. Im not super rich or spoilt, you see. Do you think 512 would be enough?

I suggest that you do go for the 512mb of RAMt will put you up to the 1gb, but first check your computer to see what type of RAMu have e.g SDR,DDR,DDR2,PC3200,PC3500, whichever one it is make sure you get the same type of RAMat you already have in your computer, also check wheather its 2x 256mb or 1x512 mb, if it is 2 x 256mb of RAM that you have in your computer i suggest you buy another 2x 256mb and run them parralel so it works to its best performance, if its 1x 512mb of RAM you have in your computer buy another 512mb of RAM and place it beside the one you already have to make sure it runs at it's best.

tbh my sig isnt true at the moment i only have 1gb of Matrix and 512 of ACE memory totaling 1.5gb (my corsair 2x1gb sticks are on the way from the states, should be here next week) and the difference with BF2 is worth the extra 512 definately!!!!! it stops the HDD load (stutter) and makes alt tabbing back to windows alot smoother also load time is quicker, i would recommend the 512 upgrade

PS im not super rich nor spoilt neither (im 26ffs) just have a job that pays what i should be paid for my age. work hard play hard

With ^ him, i went from 1g to 2g and all he said above did improve.

You would be amazed how much 2 GB makes a difference. Load times are less than 30 seconds, you have NO lag at all when you first come into a server, alt-tabbing is instant, and even when FPS drops into the 20's during EXTREMELY heavy battles it's playable without slow downs. 2 GB is a must now-a-days.
