Picked up an ATI X800 XT AIW a little while ago, and have experienced very low FPS whle playing BF2 (and other games like HL2). I have an AMD Athlon XP 2700+, 1gb of ram of PC3200 ram. I run BF2 at 1024X768@60 hz, everything on high except lighting (medium) and 2X AA. Ill get decent FPS in an open area, 50-60, but as soon as I hit ANY kind of action zone I drop down to around 20-26. I have all updated drivers and have tried many of the tweaks, all to no avail. Someone mentioned to me on another forum that it may be my PSU. I have a 425 watt power supply, but my +12v output is only 12A. Accoding to him this is too low, and could be causing a performance hit because of lack of power. Im not very familiar with PSU's, and before I go out and buy a better one I wanted to know if anyone else has ever experienced\heard of this kind of problem? Thanks.
Possible PSU problem?

Re: Possible PSU problem?
Make sure your board can actually run the 3200XP because it is 400FSB and not 333FSB like the other XP Bartons.Comment

I woudln't get a just a new CPU. You can get a sempron and new 754 mobo for just a little more than you would pay for a new AXP.
Something like:
All that for about $175.Comment
