As the title says above: I'm searching for a new soundcard that in your apinion is the best "creative" soundcard out there. Any suggestions?

Btw. I'm also looking for a PCI-E Motherboard that will fit in with 7800.

I certainly wouldn't shell out for the Elite Pro unless I was a big-time audiophile. The Fatal1ty FPS edition is meant for gamers.

So if you're a gamer and not an audiophile..get the FPS edition.

If you're a HUGE audiophile (with a ton of cash), then get the Elite Pro.

Both have X-RAM.

Then go for the Elite Pro...it also has the 64 MB of X-RAM which supposedly gives performance enhancements.

Yeah, but I also need to change my Motherboard and processor. Just to get the bloody 7800GTX that demand PCI-E and above 478 Sockets for the CPU.

Well, if I were you, I'd upgrade the mobo and vid card first and see if I had enough money leftover. Obviously those 2 things will give you the biggest difference in games

I have an Audigy 2zs, should i look to upgrade to the X-Fi FPS? i notice that this version has the 64MB X-Ram but also has a front mouted panel wich i dont need. The processor is still thsame as the cheaper version though.

Has anyone got a sound snipet in 5.1 of a BF2 game situation from both formats to compare Augidy 2zs with X-Fi or EAX 3 with X-Fi ? The sound on the 2ZS is pretty good, but from the spec of the X-Fi I guess there will be much more going on .. Be nice to know what BF2 sounds like with X-Fi first, before i shell out £190, $280.

If they came out with an X-Fi with the X-RAM but had no front panel and came at a cheaper price point, I'd buy it.

I won't buy the FPS because I cannot justify spending that kind of money on a sound card that sounds the same as the cheaper XtremeMusic edition.

Denser sound, less culling, at first its a bit bewildering but you soon get used to the amount of sonic detail. Whether its worth the upgrade depends on how into sound you are.
