Dude, the title of your thread makes no sense and the rest of your post doesn't convey any useful information.

Re: Vw-Merv-CL YOUR PSU
Yeah, this was a little confusing to me too. They later debate the accuracey of that review in that thread. If it's working for him why bother, I can see if Vw-Merv-CL asked for assistance/guidance on an upcoming purchase. Oh well.Originally posted by ShamusDude, the title of your thread makes no sense and the rest of your post doesn't convey any useful information.

Yeah, a PSU purchase can be as tricky as buying a re-manufactured transmition for your car. It's always buyer beware.

Well, you could've been a little more tactful...lol...
That's a harsh way of suggesting he should replace his PSU, although it should draw his attention.

I guess I just try not to make a bigger deal out of an issue than the person with the problem. Especially if they are already aware.

Re: Vw-Merv-CL YOUR PSU
thanks for the concern mate! a fellow clanmember recommended this PSU for my rig as he has one the same and has had no trouble with it, what harm will it do honestly the machine runs fine no instability here.
To be honest im listening and partially concerned! if i can avoid blowing up my precious componants why wouldnt i be eh?

Re: Vw-Merv-CL YOUR PSU
You can search this forum for my several comments about PSUs but if you have a multi meter, you can just check things for yourself. But if the unit has a known history of damage, I would take notice.
A poor power supply will eventually damage your motherboard and CPU to the point of instabillity and perhaps damage them beyond repair or usefulness.

Re: Vw-Merv-CL YOUR PSU
WATTAGE aint too important. What is important is the AMP on the 12V RAIL.
It will normally look like this - 12V 18A. Right now 18A is the minimum you want. Anything under is basically a waste of time, unless you running a very old computer.
Taken from your PSU post earlier just checked my supply +12V is 30A, as for the safety of this supply hasnt blown yet i guess ill take your advice and get the overclockers OCZ PowerStream 600w ATX2 Power Supply in a months time. thanks

Re: Vw-Merv-CL YOUR PSU
Qtec are extremly crap though, as I said aswell, only trust those companys i mentioned. With £20 for that WATTAGE its asking for trouble. Its a clown PSU. It might "over power" or do something like that.
The Enermax one is just as good. Trust me man get a new power supply. Your system is amazing. Get a new powersupply.
But its upto you. If you dont have the money, turn the comp off. Remove one 7800gtx, and other things consuming power. You dont want it to blow up...and take your system with it.
